Yes, I searched, but every thread seems to be about auxillary batteries. Anybody have opinions on the best starting battery for our vans? how about the Werker ones from Batteries Plus? Die Hard? Cheapo Wal-Mart?

I've always used the ones from Les Schwab. Mostly becuase they're convenient and they have good service. They ususally last about 5 years or so. There are definitely better batteries out there though.

I like Bosch. Mainly for their warranty. They come with a 3 year warranty and if you use a credit card that doubles the warranty period it boosts it to 6 years.

Series 48 from WalMart has been working well for me on most vans.

I have used many InterState batteries over the years with good success as well.
Lately, the quality has been iffy.
I have returned 2 out of the last 10 within 30 days of purchase.

Same here. I have been using these batteries for awhile and I find they work very well even in the dead of winter at 20 below zero.

+1

There's a WalMart in almost every town now.

Same can't be said when you're looking to replace your Interstate / DieHard / whatever when you're on the road.
