Got back from picking it up from Lakeland, FL. Nick and I left DC Wednesday night and pulled into Denver yesterday morning. Thanks, Nick!

Went in pretty easy, a couple little tweeks and it will get welding in. Getting close.

New wheel cylinder, flex hoses and metal lines in the rear. Now all four wheels stop at the same time.

Took mine to a show over the weekend. Swapped parts with it, Slept in it. Spent some time under it adding gear oil, but still crapped out a tranny on the way home.

BUT I made it home, so the bus did me well, exceptionally well for how gnarly that tranny was growling! Laughing

Very nice singlecab.

I finished up my 65 DD Panel today. Changed the forward cargo door on the driver's side from a blue/white window door to an OG paint Velvet Green panel door with a EZ camper window cut in.

Pulled the beam out of the 67 and spent one solid day scraping/picking 42 years of petrified grease and goo off of it prior to tossing it in the back of the truck for a trip to the local self-serve carwash. Wife and two little daughters suited up and helped to pick and scrape. Tossed nine pounds of krud into the trash when all was said and done. My back is sore.
Center pin, original to the bus, is still completely without discernable play, and super smooth. Amazing. Scratch that off the list of things to do.
Brake cylinders, marked Varga, were 50% ok. One left and one right were seized, and pistons could not be dislodged with either 120 psi compressed air or a C-clamp, or both. Others were ok after a hone, as they had not been leaking. I will reuse the cups. Could not get the left side hard line out of the cylinder, even after using heat and a vise, but that cylinder was wasted anyway. Hope to be painting and reassembling with rebuilt Rizzag spindles by next weekend.

I'll be spending some QT with the wire brush on the buffer this evening, cleaning up all the hardware as well as the two rusty wheel cylinders that I am going to reuse.

edit to fix typo

Getting closer!

I've been fighting with the nose pieces still. Trim, fit, cuss; lather, rinse repeat. I think I'm going to have to make major mods to the V skin piece - the lower flange isn't 90° to the face and the curvature is off, so I'll have to make a bunch of relief cuts and re-bend the flange. Although I haven't tried to fit it in place yet, it doesn't look like the V shape will match the nose, so that will need some massaging as well.
