Anybody know what amperage a stock alternator on a '74 bay window would be rated at? I'm running a pretty hefty sound system, but I'm not sure of the best way to measure the draw of the system, and whether or not it's more than the alternator can handle. This probably isn't a common issue with busses, but hopefully there's someone out there who's tried to do this!

Stock is 55 amps.
Canadian buses with the BA 6 heater came with 70 amp alternators [77 year model].

take the watts of your stereo times 2 devide by 13.5 =your draw amps.I might be wrong on this,so call a local car stereo shop. I would look at a yellow top Optima battery also. Hope this may help you out somwhat.
