Hi gang,

I just bought an '88 Westy last week with a crunched side door. It operates very nicely, though I'm thinking of replacing it with a non-crunched door. I've got someone offering me one for $650 (they said they paid $1000 for it new). Is this a fair price? Will I find one (dark grey) in good shape for less money? BTW, this has automatic locks.

Alternately, how much should I expect to pay a body shop to hammer it out for me? Plus priming (it is grey after all...)

TIA,

Stephen

Thats kinda high, there are two older doors(85 and older) here at the junkyards, would cost you $30 each.

Like you though I need 86+ sliding doors so they do me no good. I'll just keep my ear to the ground untill i find one reasonably priced.

Some of the '85's are the later style as well. I have an '85 with the later door and I needed a replacement. I found one at a place in NY for $150. I've seen other junkyard ones for $50 or less. My Westy was wrecked in June, and I'm still deciding if I want to part it out, or what to do with it.
