I am contemplating a Vanaru conversion v a Bostig conversion. Plenty of Bostig talk out there but not a lot of Vanaru.
Anyone in the DC general area with any Vanaru conversion I could talk to?

Maybe call up Vanaru to see if they can offer some customer references.

i have a vanaru conversion and i researched for a year and a half before going with hans, its the best thing ive ever done for my van during the 18 yrs of ownership..hans @vanaru is the man/the real deal...its a honor to have had him do the install....quality product/knowledge and service before and after the conversion ! im sending you a pm in ref to it, if you can get to NH you can drive mine

I had Hans from Vanaru do a conversion for me this spring. I have put over 5000 trouble free miles since April. The Westy is a pleasure to drive now, passing trucks while climbing mountians. The engine is smooth, quiet, gets better MPG, and a lot more power. I'm very happy with it. My only problem is keeping my camping equipt in the luggage rack at high speeds. I reccomend installing bigger brakes with this conversion.

Same with me. Not much to be said, really.
It's still a demanding conversion: you need to plan more trips and longer trips afterward!

| I have a Vanaru kit in my 88 Westy Auto for over 2 years now with plenty of miles. No regrets at all, the only issue I have always had is a slight surge at idle. I tried to upgrade as much as I could afford at the time of the install, ss coolant lines, radiator, etc. I do agree with the advice of bigger brakes, you get addicted to the extra power quickly then realize you have to stop. Good luck. |

You know you can easily fix that for 35$. enginewiring.com
There is a VSS fix that just plugs to the ECU (easy to do).
It sends a signal to the ECU and you will not have any surge or stall when coing to a stop from a highway for example.
See the website. /products. you only need to know your engine year.
