Eurovans in the Wilderness (or not) Thread

I may get shot for this - especially since I'm a newbie here! - but I think it's time for a Eurovans in the Wilderness Thread.

The Vanagon's in the Wilderness Thread is so inspiring to me each time I look through it that I wanted to share a shot or two of my own - but alas, I have a Eurovan which doesn't belong in that thread.

Also, it seems "wilderness" is a term open for interpretation - I really just mean vans that are in nature and actually being used. Whether you have to take a 4x4 goat trail to get there or it's paved, I don't care.

So let me start off with a couple pics of our recent trip up Icicle Creek (near Leavenworth, WA) in our 1993 EV Weekender. It was rad.

How far back in the boonies can you get an EV? I guess it all depends on your definition of "wilderness". Laughing

3. any desolate tract, as of open sea.

By definition 1.. as soon as Aleric takes his "mog" into "wilderness".. it ceases being "wilderness".
By defintion 2.. no vehicle.. from Vanagone or EVs to simple bicycles is allowed to enter "wilderness" except by permit or special circumstance
By definition 3.. a Vanagon or EV might sink Wink

By definition 4 (The European defintion Laughing

) any spot with some trees constitutes "wilderness".

And by defintion 5, we have all entered the wilderness whenever we visit the Samba.

I don't know if this is "wilderness" or not by whose definition. However there is a EV parked next to me and there isn't any concrete in the picture. Razz

I am jealous of your vans' at times......I may even someday purchase a Euro Westy just for the rear shower and VR6. One thing I noticed is that a lot of Eurovanners do not return the manditory courtesy wave? What is up with that?

Differentiate and stand proud. The Samba is mainly ACVW, but our vans are part of that evolution.

Even 1980-1991Westfalias are kind of taboo because the 83 1/2 + vans are water cooled, yet, GoWesty does not even recognize the ACVW vanagons on their website. I have heard this discussd an nauesem on these forums. Vanagons just really surprised the mods and I am sure Eurovans can do the same. I have owned both AC and WC Vans (Many of both @ 23 Westfalias over the years) all of different vintages, but, never a Eurovan.....Someday. Great idea....do not let the haters get you down! Wink

Hell, even GWTWTLW almost bought one a couple months back :

the forum moderators should remove all the posts here that don't add anything to the tittle of this thread (including mine) and leave the EV owners to post their beautiful pictures and wilderness experiences. I can't believe samba members are trying to ruin a thread that could be as good as the one for the vanagons.

Hey calm down. I was just kidding. I would love to see pics of EVs in campgrounds or going up a gnarly forest road to get to that primo spot. I love to see other people's rides.

View out of the pop top in the Yukon.......and yes, that river is full of arctic grayling and rainbows.

Again, more pics that aren't mine to get this started. All these are harvested from the EV_Update yahoo group and most are several months to several years old.

If any pics are yours and you want them removed I will do so ASAP.
