|
|
Hi I finally got my self a 57 lowlight. I have always wanted one and the time has come.
This leads me to my question. The car has a disk front end. I would like to keep this as it has a 1600 cc. The problem is I would like to put on original wheels. I could maybe use a adaptor plate but are these safe? has any got any thoughts
Cheers Mike

I always thought that hub caps make the car safer to drive. When you drop a bolt you can hear it rattling and you can stop. Don't people loctite there adapters on? _________________ Dan

Not much info. As you can see it was for sale back when these pics were taken. Eventually it ended up across the pond rotting in the yard of a house - as shown in the previous photo. Somewhere in the mix it looks to have lost some parts. I'm glad it still exists in some form.

It was offered up on ebayUK a few times whilst painted in the original scheme a few years back- essentially it looked like the picture in the yard at the time and was in a bit of a sorry state but was clinging on to its past glory! didn't seem to be going anywhere despite several prices hacks- then a while later it turned up again in the new restored condition- give away signs are the interior and under hood detailing, as well as the wheels etc- I bet if you were to take a razor blade to some of that black shiny stuff you would find pink underneath!
I liked it as it was in the 90's(?) but when it arrived in the UK I'm not sure it even got registered while it still wore the pink paint and you can see how much it detereorated before being moved on _________________ http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZsethnsuzie

Nice to know some of the cars history.
I am now changing the wheels over to originals. I am installing new 5 stud brake kit. I am thinking of the CSP kit. Can you tell me if it has 0 offset? Have any tried any other brake kit that is of good quality?

I'd keep the wheels that were on there.
