Hello
..........I am fairly new to baja scene, but so far my beetle have been called many weird and funny names. if similar thread does not exist,
lets keep the names comming:
common:
---buggy
--herby
-baja
funny:
1.
"...this must be Italian...
-no it is vw.
...yes..(?) the little Italian car.
-no it vw baja- California racing style.
...yes yes...like a fiat 
(tipsy guy passing by)
2.
Is that a modified motorcycle?
(pump guy at the gas station) |

OK, check this out. When my girlfriend was a kid, she refered to a VW beetle as a "beaver". So I have a "baja beaver"! That is what we call it. Anyone ever heard a VW beelte nick-named a "beaver"? Ha!
I get lots of attention in my baja. Common question- "Is that a Volkswagon?" Always good compliments. Not many of them around anymore.-especially bajas! |

Thats got to be a joke.
I hate when people call my baja a "buggy" It drives me nuts.
Some friends have nick named it "piece of crap"

We play this cheezy game called the "Beaver Game". Its kindof like slug bug. You call them out as fast as you can and get points for each according to:
A new bug is a "new beaver" worth 1 point.
An old Type 1 (bug) is an "old beaver" worth 2 points.
A "Bus" is worth 10 points
A "Bus Truck" is worth 15 points
If its red, then you add 5 points. A red one is called "cleaver"
Also they have to be confirmed. If they are not, then no points. We've caught the kids cheeting. 
The highest you can get is 20 points for a "beaver cleaver bus truck". There is one driving around Weatherford Texas. 
Dealerships, used car lots and shops do not count, and if the beaver lives or works there you cannot call it.
So the bug below is a "New Beaver Cleaver" worth 6 points.
