I was wondering what sort of axles I would need to run if I used 2x3 or 3x3 inch trailing arms. I have noticed on the web that 3x3 inch trailing arms are generally less expensive, and I was wondering if that had to do with any special equipment needed axle wise or otherwise. I have heard that bus axles would work for the 2x3 inch trailing arms, but what years of bus axles, and would they really work? Any help would be welcome.

bus axles will work with the 2x3's, pretty sure any year 68-79 will fit the bill. You'll also need to consider shock mounting with any aftermarket trailing arm. you can't use your stock shock location anymore, Usually through the body attached to a cage.

Keep in mind that those cheap 3x3's are exactly that, cheap! Other things to consider are heavier springplates (don't skimp there either) and possibly thicker torsion bars.
