No, I like my crappy idle, surging and hot-starting problems just fine, thanks |

Thanks all for the compliments. Funny to see this resurrected after so long.
The status on the TB is that Rocky Jennings is working on a production run of ten copies, when he has time to spare. He runs a busy shop so that means progress is slow. He's been working out the CNC routines based on my plans. So someday, hopefully not too long from now, there will be new TB's available, either directly from me and perhaps thru one of our favorite parts vendors.
The vacuum switching module became available not long after the last activity on this thread, a year and a half ago. Initially I offered it based on the mechanical switch, and there are a handful of those in circulation. Later Reiney started building it as an electronic circuit, based on a solid-state MAP sensor, supported by a digital IC. I have those available now, and hope to place them with a vendor as well. Both versions work very nicely, and can be used to supersede the stock TB switching arrangement on any wbx, but it is especially an improvement over the late TB version. Use of the module will be required with the new TB and it will included in the price. _________________ Shop for unique Vanagon accessories at the Vanistan shop:

Thats all I'm asking for.
It's funny that I was reading this last night and this morning. As I headed home from work I stopped by a friends garage (VW Mechanic for 38 years ) and while sitting around BSing a customer comes in. Anyone want to guess what he was looking for?? Yup a replacement TB. Of course I told him to come here and read up and look around. I also told him about the outstanding support everyone provides here. _________________ I have never owned a VW I didn't like, but there have been a few Fords and Chevy's.

For now, send them here to Phil:

You probably know him, another 'Burque local, he does a beautiful job on these. Combine it with one of my vac switch modules for the tight setup. I think VC is also selling Phil's reconned TB's. _________________ Shop for unique Vanagon accessories at the Vanistan shop:

This is all very well and good, but it's not an aftermarket performance part until it's available in anodized purple. |

Very nicely done! I think the vacuum switch is beyond clever, have you been raiding my Demerol supply? I have interest in one of your production models when you get it refined.
Bravo! |
