Not sure if it is an option for you, but this is my 10 minute home made drum puller made from a nasty beetle rim.
It's ugly, but it's works great.

I wish I had a welder. what is the jack and chain method? I'll look at ebay. but every day that passes i lose a days work.
Harbour frieght is about a hour away do they have them.

I'd say chain an X over the center with lug bolts to drum and a bottle jack in the center like the v frame photo.

Have you called any tool rental places. I called a local one and they had just what I needed. $20 for 4 hours.

If you have a standard three arm puller ,just take the arms off and cut 3 lenghts of chain to fit from the puller to the lug nuts and open the outer links to fit the lugs.Just use the puller as you normaly do and with a little wd-40 it should come right off. Very Happy

Use some gate hinges and a cheap puller from Autozone:

I made this about 10 years ago and use it a couple times a year - but those times are when I REALLY need to get a drum off and it works great....

That kukko puller is the real deal.

I don't use the bangy thing, just a 27mm socket on a ratchet.
This wheel rolled just fine, but was stuck on the splines.
Here the flex handle is used to keep the wheel from spinning.

Greg had a wanted ad up for one of these for a while, then found it on German Ebay.
