if i were to do it again, i'd get 5.5in rims of the same design so i could run a wider tire. the front also needs to be lowered a bit, but that's a later project.

i like em hammered and on diff wheels but god dam this car is soooo clean fenderwells are spotless.. nice work

Hope ya guys can help me.

I a 61 LP front and Swing rear.

Ordered a -4" Ultimate beam from Pete @ Airkewld, I have 2.5 drop spindles on empi disk front and rear. (Yes I know Sad ) and notched spring plates. This car will lay out for sure.
I'm also going to be running Empi 5-spoke 5.5"
Bagged in the rear and air sleeves in the front.

I would like to run a larger tire in the front rather than a 135 and still be able to lay out. I also would like a good size tire in the rear.

So heres my questions:

Will a 155x60x15 do ok in the front?
And will a 205x60x15 work in the rear?

Any help would be great and if at all possible..... Pictures?

Thanks guys!

There's 35 pages of cars and you can't find one with a 4" beam and something other than 135s?

145/65
175/55
165/45

Anything that's not 80-series.

Is there a way you can just put the body on the pan to check clearances? That might save you having to buy a second set of tires.

I can, but I would like to have the pan rolling before I bring the body in to start the body work.

The 205x60x15's should clear in the rear all the way down though right?

My 205/60s didn't hit the body even when the car was sitting with the spring plates on the frame horns. Short axles. Didn't drive it like that...just wanted to see what it looked like.

Is anyone running 1 outer spline down with standard length plates
(not extended for toe) in the snow/rain/slush/ice? Right now I am down 2 outers and the car fishtails like mad in the snow and ice. I do not want to extend the plates and am wondering if 1 outer will solve this issue. If not...stock it goes.

there is always airshocks... hi-jackers should raise the rear at least 4" when fully inflated

Ok Ill post mine up.

1977 std bug
135/15 tires
STOCK SPINDLES!!!!
STOCK BALL JOINTS!!!
3/4" pie cut (super easy to do)
Full suspension were it sits
5" custom beam w/ shock towers and air shocks
allthread threw rods
185/65 tires in back
two splines, I think. It will be lower in the rear after I deal with my clearence issues with my axles

Anything out of the ordinary here???? It will lay the apron on the ground, and yes thats a pretty much stock front end
