Hell yeah. I'll try a pair. Their new inner & outer rockers fit nice.
Edit* now that I looked at the price, I'll stick to the black ones for a hundred a piece. _________________ -Corey

That's cool that they are welded together except how do you weld the outer to the "B" post above where the inner covers that area ? _________________ http://skidmarksgarage.com/

I would carefully cut an access hole in the back side of the inner half, then weld the piece back in one installed... an extra step, but still less welding overall than a two piece dogleg. _________________ DON'T SHIT WHERE YOU EAT! |

i agree.
i would'nt matter if they were free. a customer recently wanted me to install a set of doglegs, they were not even in the ballpark. they were inches off; i would'nt touch 'em. _________________ WANTED:

it would be really nice to be able to get them seperately; maybee we should start calling ww and tell them
that price is fair, as long as they don't kill on shipping them to the east coast. _________________ WANTED:

i would not expect to have to cut open new metal that i just paid good money for, to have to fit it on my bus. not having the dogleg pieces welded together also allows a more precise fit from one bus to another. that's the difference in gerson and ww. however, ww does seem to be listening to the demands out there, reflected in there new metal. hopefully they'll pick up on this nessessory tweek to their product as well. _________________ WANTED:

For what it is worth, NOS dogleg outer and inner structures were welded together when sent to VW dealers as replacement parts.
Below is a photo of me welding one of my NOS doglegs in place.
Perhaps WW used a set of NOS doglegs as templates and I don't think it (welded together) is "wrong" because that is what VW offered the dealers in the 50's, 60's and 70's.
The WW doglegs look nice, but how do they compare to the funky green ones which seem to be the current standard of excellence? Maybe Ronnie can do a side by side comparison since he has access to both styles. |
