| I'm looking to replace the fenders on my 67. Is there anything special about the fenders on a 67? If not what years should I be looking at. Thanks |

you can fit from about the late 50's to about 1973 standerd on your car
once you go above 1967, the FENDERS have the opening for the bumper brackets.
Your 1967 has the opening for the bumper bracktes in the APRON
Soooo if you go above 1967 you'll just look silly with 2 sets of bumper bracket holes

1967 FRONT fenders are very different from 1966-earlier. The headlight being the main difference. 1967-only front fenders use an upright style headlamp. 1966-earlier fenders use a slanted-style headlight assembly

Rear fenders are identical from 1962-67. 1961-earlier rear fenders will also fit, but the taillight locations will differ

| did this a long time ago. took 68 fenders welded up the bumper holes and cut out some horn grill vents. looked alright and no one noticed |

As noted, '67 fenders are unique. Early bumper mounts, with later headlights. One bit of advice, buy both new fenders from the same vendor. Different manufactures have different presses. They may look the same when you are holding them in your hand, but after they are painted and mounted you often start to notice slightly different wheel arches, headlight or turnsignal position.
Also, depending on how accurate you want to be on your restoration, most if not all of the repop '67 fenders have the horn grill holes in the wrong position. Original have the vent holes about 1.5" from the inside edge of the fender and the repops are about 3"

if your not going for an original look, then just fill the bumper bracket holes from a matching set of 68 /69 fenders and your good to go. no horn grills. I agree on the mismatch fenders. You need a matching set or your in for a headache. Just mount an early set of fenders and call it a day. looks better anyway. My 67 was far from my favorite for obvious small window and deck lid reasons but to each is own. Went through a 67 bug, 2 66 bugs, a 64 bug, a 60 bug, a 73 ghia and on my 63 bug right now. When you look through a smaller windshield it feels like driving a time capsule. Sorry to rant, just remembering like a weiner.

Hi,
I've been searching but haven't found an answer to my fender question. How can you tell the difference between a repro 67 rear fender and a 67 OG rear fender just by looking at it? Can you? I know my fronts are repros, wondering about the rears.

Most reproduction fenders are lacking the drain holes on the rear lip for the rear fender.

Rear Fenders.
repro fenders come to a point at bottom where it meets the apron. repro fenders have almost no radius from heat channel to opening for tire (where small end of running board mates up to. not radiused like running board. also repo fenders are less weight than original ones.
