I spent a few days this week fabricating my version of a bekowa half length bus rack with an added slide out ladder.
So here is show and tell, took about 140ft of various tubing.

krusher, are you familiar with the american slang "nice rack" ? very nice indeed, how about posting a few closeup pics of your bus rack details, like the slider.... very nice indeed. _________________ 63 15 window deluxe Turkis walk through 1500

Looks great nice design for the ladder stow. Can you post a closeup of your joints?

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

I guess I am tired and things just seem different when I am tired, but this just struck me funny:

Very nice fabrication of the rack!
With the price being so high and availability so low of the OG racks, so many questions about rack deminisions, questions on what tubing to use, might this be a nice sticky until it runs its course? _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

Thanks guys.
The slide out is a very basic design, no joints or anything complicated, the top rung of the ladder just sticks out to the sides about a 1/4" and that runs in 2 U channels under the rack. _________________ (06:31:07) RoachGhia: "i drink dick way too fast" |

^^^My thoughts exactly.
How tight does the ladder fit when stowed ? Do you need to put a bungie cord on it to hold it tight ? |

In this pic it looks as though the rack is very tall. I would assume that is for clearance of the ladder sliders. Could you post a pic showing the clearance between the rack and the roof?
That "tall" look is the only thing I don't like about the rack. Looks great otherwise, good work! _________________ nothing |

no, everyone will gang up on the Internet and say how much they want one but then they will all disappear when it's check writing time. |

I think the price is right and it is a good idea with the ladder. What if the ladder could come out all the way and hook onto different spots so you could access the rack all around. That would be cool on a full length version.
unfortunately I am in Chicago and will not be at OCTO. _________________ Josh The Bus Guy formerly known as JOGR
