Key out. Turn light switch on full-not parking lights, full lights(key out parking lights will only come on but still turn on switch all way).
Pull bright lights on and hold switch back towards your body as you simultaneously hit window switch and hold. When I first attempted I did the same thing cursing......then realized you have to hold the brights on like you are flashing someone...hold the left lever back........hit power window switch of your choice.

Power door locks also have a 3rd position. The 3rd position is when you have the key slot in the vertical position and want to open the rear hatch.
Insert the key and turn and hold in 2 o'clock position and push the key in. The rear hatch will open and the hatch will still be locked once the keys are removed. |

| I've done the power window trick and taught the GF as well. It doesn't go over very well with the neighbors when camping though. |

The variable speed wiper thang? I have intermittent wipers on my Vanagon L. Is this for models that did not come with it? Or can you control the speed of the intermittentness  like a 2000 era car?
I always tell people who do not own these vans they are the swiss army knife's of vehicles.

Or can you control the speed of the intermittent say set it at 5 or 10 or 15 sec using a slider

Me either.... but I did do a GW high power headlight upgrade. Molested some wires. I think my upgrade downgraded my "happy finish".

Yup thats right... the mechanism does need some attention from time to time too. On my 91 (and assuming the're all the same) there is a plastic guide that actually slides back and forth on a rod. The lock was becoming comepletly wonkey. Even to the point of the only way to open it AT ALL WAS FROM THE INSIDE! Sheech, that lasted about 30 seconds after I had to pull all the shit out FROM THE INSIDE to reach the inside hatch release, ripped the panel off and saw it was gummed up. Cleaned w/ WD40 and dab of white grease.... good to go.
