So this year we're going to have slightly more organized awards...still participant judged, and still not to be taken seriously. they will be much cooler than the ones I slapped together the night before last year too.
Bug early
Bug late
Bus
Porsche
VW other (T3, ghia,thing fridolin, SP2, hebmuller,rometsch etc... )
Kit car, buggy
watercooled all
best in show
I think that's all, I may have forgotten one...

haha Nick I have a few ideas for the "queen" award...those people take things a little more seriously than most of us
Brian and I had talked about putting mirrors under our cars to show off some of the crusty areas falling apart
As the show gets closer and we gauge who's coming more decisions can be made, I really like the idea of "club choice" awards that other clubs can present if they come.
also anybody have a piece of really hideous (err..I mean beautiful) shag carpet? We're gonna need it for the South Philly Van Club if they show up.
I think this pic is an early member of the Sellersville

Ok so today Brian and I chatted for a bit on a few details for the show and whatnot...and decided that beyond the regular participant judged awards for the show classes we plan on doing a few other special awards as well.
We also want to open this up to anyone coming to the show to bring an award to present if they want. We'll start off the "awards ceremony" with anyone who decides to's impromptu presentations of prizes for their favorite car, club, hairstyle, whatever...as long as it's not super offensive and you actually brought an award to give out.
(try and keep it clean for the kiddies)
So if you're a paint job inspection commando, a wheel whore or a patina fanatic and want to make an award and present it to your favorite car or person in whatever class you can create then have at it!! You get to be the judge, you get to create the class.
also as mentioned before, if any clubs are coming, we're definitely down with doing "club choice" awards too.
best jordache jeans mammaltoe goes to (drumroll).............. Mike!!!
let's have fun with this...

Okay, so we're looking for some sponsors for Dripfest to provide the proper attire for everyone!!! ('threads' if you're a gangster) and to keep the show Free!
Garnet VW has stepped in to help sponsor Dripfest this year!!! huge thanks to Steve and the Garnet crew! We're looking for a few more sponsors to help us out, if anyone or any shop, business etc are interested, shoot me a PM, Email, or Call Me for more details! Also looking for cool items to raffle off at Dripfest this year along a fun assortment of other cool raffle items that we'll provide! Our sponsors will be listed on the Dripfest Flyers and Tshirts and will have special VIP area to set up at the show!
Also this year at Dripfest we will have "The Evolution of the Bug" Display......a non-traditional display of the evolution of our beloved Type I Beetle.

haha thanks...I take that as a compliment
the looks I get driving around with a missile mounted to my roof are priceless
will be lower this year, I'm still not satisfied with the stance, to my super picky eye the front end sits a c hair higher than the rear and I want to fix that ...plus a few more "special" touches...thinking about skipping ctown and etown to vend off some parts at those shows and just wait for dripfest/cult classic weekend to bring it out with the full mind blowing WWII artillery display (thanks to ed w). yes I have gone completely off the deep end, no need to remind me
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A SUPPLIER FOR L/P DROP SPINDLES THAT DON'T ADD ANY TRACK WIDTH? LET ME KNOW!!! _________________ I don't care about the bug you used to own back in the day ,leave me alone I am trying to pump gas in my car |

skipping ctown and etown to vend would require you to rollout OCOD style in the jetta ....wait, that's 2011...i'm getting ahead of myself here!!!!
you can ride shotgun in the square to C & E-town and to Jason's Morgantown event on the 25th or take jeff's Thuper beetle, b/c he doesn't drive it much! _________________ Old City Oil Drippers

for e and c town, I will be driving the VW silverado or VW grand cherokee so I can load up my parts to sell
as far as Jason's event at Morgantown...I may bring my bug cuz he's an ooooooold friend. I'd ride my bike before I drove Jeff's thuper...nothing against super beetles guys, but his is just too thpectacularly thuper for a straight man to drive. _________________ I don't care about the bug you used to own back in the day ,leave me alone I am trying to pump gas in my car |
