Heres a thread I started that got moved to the readers ride section. In my opinion, because sierra yellow is mainly a bus color, and the only pictures on the thread are baywindow buses, it should have stayed in this forum so people would actually see it. My point was to make a sierra yellow bus thread. Now it has gotten no love in its current spot. Lots of 72s in here!

and my old 72. Greatest year of the bay window bus IMO. Excellent body lines and bumpers AND the TYPE IV engine. For those of you about to say "yeah, but it has no engine hatch", I never found that to be a problem, just an annoyance!

Oh Im in on this!
Good call on the thread. I dont know of any other threads so hopefully this one sticks. (course I havent searched)
and heres my thread on the old girl. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4071250#4071250 May of '72 was originally sierra, my bad for changing the color. it was pretty beat, so, yeah. that was a long time ago, before these things started getting harder to find, I had no idea what I had, all i knew is that it looked cool, and simple enough I was able to get it running with no instructions at all. _________________ May of '72 Deluxe. 2.0L L-Jet CS & 091 trans conversion

Then
Now
Some less than obvious items in there was a new motor and carbs, new front seat upholstery, door and kick panels, wood floor, house battery and lighting, new canvas on the upper fold out cot and pop top tent, 2nd jalousie window, new curtains, icebox, repainted pop top, new wheel cylinders
...etc etc.
Original delivery was in Madrid, spent its time between Acapulco, Texas, Arizona, and Eastern Oregon. _________________ BUS FOR SALE
