Well here we go volks from the fav oval color thread we got her stripped down, block sanded and ready to go to the paint shop!
After all the work I understand why paint jobs are expensive talk about labour intensive!

Got the new 1957 engine cleaned up and repainted also did a box of all the smaller parts. Redid both bumpers and brackets I'm starting on the seat frames now ....I found out that once you restore a part a lot of the other parts that were ok when it was OG really start to look like crap so it's like a endless cycle Sad Hopefully I will get it done before the car comes back from the paint shop Confused

I'm working on it Very Happy once I got all the pieces restored I will lay them out on the garage floor and take a pic ...so far I've clean polished or painted every part of the car Shocked only eight pieces left.
I'm still having a hard time with the seat frames I degreased them sanded them and tried two different paint and primer combos just wont go on smooth .....................and then I have to start on the wiring harness! Confused

Wiring only looks complicated
once you pull the new harness through it is just a matter of conecting them and the diagram that comes with them are pretty decent

good luck with it looks like a great project

wiring works but as far as i know all the vendors for the most part sell his kit.
for a couple hundred bucks you get a new harness and good connections, worth the money in my opinion

Head liner and rubber came in from WW just need to order carpet a wiring harness and a few other odds and ends ....suprisingly the car will end up with most of it's original parts as planned instead of filling it full of repro stuff Very Happy
Now I just have to wait for the body to come back from the paint shop Sad

You're making some good progress! How long until the car comes back from paint? Mine is black with red too so I'm curious to see the blue L36 comes out. I'm still thinking I'm going black L41.
