Looking at a 60 - Overall very solid - all orginal except crappy repaint. Now here the weird thing. Floors are great, BUT inside rocker behind B pillar is all rotted. Also I feel bubbling low on the rear quarter behind teh B pillar. I can see the back portion of the heater channel on the inside and its clean and smooth - no rust. So, what would cause this corrosion? Only thing I can thing is battery related, But wouldnt you expect the floor to be rotted Or would it be from just the venting from the battery?

Seriously considering picking this car up, but just never say this before and it makes me nervous. Thanks.

Probably a repair that trapped moisture.

I think i've got what you're describing on mine, except drivers side. I think mine was a failed body/pan seal that was keeping the carpet over the rocker soaking wet.

BUT this is under the seat - no carpet there. Without pulling the interior panel, I couldnt tell if there was a damge on the rear quarter. Hmmm - thanks for the ideas though.

my wifes 61 had this rust and guessing when i repaired it
it was caused by a mouse nest due to all the crap that
came out (twigs weeds bits of cloth)
