the tiico is just a 2.0 vw, right? It sounds like a tow is in order Sad

your about 80 miles from Provo or Beaver...
In provo, theres
Jimmys Love Bug @ 232 South Freedom Blvd Provo, UT 84601 (801) 374-1983)
Independent Import Service @ 1245 North State Street Provo, UT 84604 (801) 374-2115

and in Orem, theres Foreign Aid @ 341 S State St Orem, UT 84058 (801) 225-5105

I have no idea whats in beaver really.

ProvoCylclist, thanks for checking in. I received an email from Damian at Integrity Auto in West Jordan while in the tow truck. Since he indicated he could get me right in this morning and had Tiico experience, we forked over the 10 mi. extra towing charge beyond our AAA 100mi. limit. So far so good and he thinks he can get us back on the road this afternoon. Thanks to you, TheSamba and Roadhaus, we've gotten good advice!

Post trip follow-up. After the excellent service at Integrity First Auto south of SLC, our van runs smoother than ever and the rest of our trip was uneventful, van-wise. I highly recommend Damian and his crew at Integrity First. They replaced the water pump within a few short hours and discovered oil leaking onto the timing belt. Further inspection showed the cam seals were not seated properly, requiring replacement. Damian even lent me the shop vehicle to shuttle my family from the hotel to the shop. Can't say enough about their diagnostic skills and trustworthiness. Put this shop on your list if your passing through the SLC/Provo area. We were lucky to find them.
