Yes the basic needs are very challanging, probably why they do one at a time now.I wore a loose pair of running shorts, and I could just get paper on one hand with the finger tips of the outher!

I had my right hand done 2 years ago. Probably due to get the left done sometime in the future. They will do both at the same time but I assume its a personal decision by the doctor. Just make sure you have some one to help you if you get both done at the same time. A customer of mine had his done both at the same time and he was fine in a week. I think alot of it depends on how much they have to fix when they are in there. Mine hand took about 2 weeks for I could do very much with it. I think I waited longer than I should have to do the surgery.

well folks, my left hand is doing great. I still have some swelling which is putting pressure on the nerve and causing some numbness, but the strength is increasing and mobility is improving a little every day.

I'm on the slate to have my right done next Tuesday. should be good. I hope my left is at least 75% by then so I can still do, well, certain things that I have too much pride to ask for help with. Anxious

Good luck with it. Remember to take it easy on it.

I need to have this statement repeated to me at least 3 times/day or I forget. I have issues with following simple instructions sometimes. Confused
I get ants in my pants after being inside for about 2 hours, then I find something to do outside. today my activity was picking up all the twigs and sticks that fell on our property over the winter. Laughing

Good luck!

That's crazy that they are doing the other hand so soon.

Sleepy sedation? I was awake when they did mine.

My second surgery hurt more at first as well. Two days later it hurt a lot less but it wasn't until four weeks until it was close to being normal. Even six months later it was still a bit tender near the incision.

scheisse! thats quite the slow going recovery. hopefully I'm fully operational by June or so. I have so many outdoor/landscaping projects I want to get done. **crossing fingers**, well, in spirit anyway.

So, the numbness does not come back? I've been waking up with three numb fingers off and on for a couple of years. Masonry is the culprit.

well, the numbness can come back again if you continue to thrash around like normal, which is what I plan to do. The surgeon that did mine said often people that are very active and prone to carpal tunnel will need to have it done again later in life. I don't really mind that. one thing is for certain; i'm not going to baby my hands and wrists for the rest of my life. Laughing I've got stuff to do and a life to live afterall!!
