Morgan Topel, age 35, Aka, Mongo63, Died on April 07, 2010, as the result of a motorcycle accident.
Here are some details, which were posted on page 3. I thought I would move them to the front and place them in the first post
MEMORIAL SERVICE for Morgan Topel
Morgan's memorial service will be on Sunday the 18th at 11am at his shop which is called Midwest Thunder. The address is 213 Stone Ct, Ste B, New Lenox, IL 60451
If you are coming from the Frankfort, IL area you will just need to take Rt.30 to Gouger Rd. Go left on Gouger(south) for about half a mile and on your left there will be the entrance to a small commercial business area, the streets name is Ferro Dr. From there just make the first left hand turn which will bring you to a culdesac.
PLEASE DRIVE YOUR VW'S - BUGGY'S OR MOTORCYCLES if you can!
You guys know he would've loved that.
It is going to be a casual fun time celebrating Morgan just the way he would have wanted it.
If at all possible please drop me an email at [email protected] letting me know if you are coming so we could get a general idea of how many people there are going to be.
We are also asking people to bring a food dish if they can.
I really hope to see you guys there.
Corey

My condolences to his family. I don't get on this forum that much, but when I do I always read what he has to say. He had intelligent answers and was always ready to help everyone in need, which is rare with members on some forums. Last year after I posted a thread about bumpers, Morgan volunteered to help me build one. Unfortunately I live a little too far away to have made his offer feasible. But I really appreciated his offer though. He'll surely be missed on here. I wish that other forums had members as intelligent and helpful as he was.

That is horrible. A very close friend of mine's grandmother passed on easter sunday. I am now waiting to hear about the third. Mongo was on my list of people to make contact with, as I grew up in Park Forest, Il. ran all over the frankfort area. I am guessing prison city to be Joliet or Pontiac, both of wich I lived in for a time. Rest Well Morgan! _________________ I finally started a thread on my sand shark..

Morgan was a friend and a fellow Southside Buggistas club member. He was very talanted and devoted to the VW hobby. He will be dearly missed and our prayers go out to his family. We are extremely sorry for your loss. As nightmanx11 had posted, he was in a single vehicle motorcycle accident. The initial traffic reports are indicating that he simply hit a bad patch of road. We should all count our blessings and realize how easily life can be taken away.
Rest in peace Morgan, I will miss you.

Mongo seemed to be a great guy from his posts. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. Way too soon to lose a dad and a provider, he'll be missed. _________________ Gary

I sat up when I read this. He was always great at ripping on me but was always willing to help. Did some incredible fab work too! This totally sucks!

I'm very glad to see Morgan's attributes were apparent through his forum posts. Morgan was well liked by everyone that met him, very intelligent and almost never without Sam "The Boy" at his side.
Morgan was a good friend and will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
Rest in Peace, Morgan
Jerry...

I'm real sorry to hear of Mongo's passing. I watched his build as it was progressing. It is people like him that are making my build possible. I am sorry for his family and especially his son whom he seemed to be real close with. |

You could tell by the bikes and VW's that he built that he was full of passion. Seemed like a pretty colorful dude as well.
RIP, Mongo. Godspeed. |
