I weighed mine a couple of weeks ago and it weighed in at 5200 lbs. That was with me (170 or so), a half tank of gas and a little gear. _________________ 89 Syncro Westy - GW 2.5, now with a double knob job

GVW = total allowable weight loaded
Curb Weight = vehicle weight ready to drive _________________ Pacifist with a gun |

GVWR = total allowable weight loaded
Gross vehicle weight and curb weight are the same- "curb weight" is more often used though. |

why are you asking
For a Syncro Westy, the GVWR spec is 5512 lbs, the curb weight spec is 4100 lbs,
my syncro westy weights 4750 with me, my surfboard, and all my gear.
stop by the scale at the dump and they will tell you what you weigh.. |

A significant portion of GVWR is influenced by tire load rating, correct?? Wouldn't it increase once a higher rated tire is on the vehicle?? _________________ '87 Syncro Westy

Brake tests, skidpad tests and rollover tests are probably more influential than tires. |

Yeah, definitely want to upgrade brakes with a heavier load. I'm not sure rollover would be affected a lot if load was low and not up high. It might actually help with the 7' tall syncro westy.
I'd say with upgrades to tires, brakes & suspension, you would go WELL over 5512# safely. _________________ '87 Syncro Westy
