engine # info needed

I have an engine that i think is a 36 horse (has the cast generator stand), but the serial number doesn't make sense to me- it starts with an E. Anybody able to shed some light on this?

I think the E was a 1300 T1 manufactured from 8/65 to 7/70 worldwide. When it was actually available in the states (if at all) I am not sure.

That is the info I found in Simpson's book as well, except this engine has an early cast in generator stand. Could it be a factory replacement engine?
