There are none in the Bay Window classifieds, so I'm trying to get an idea.

I've seen them new for $172-$191 online. The local shop (Painter's Grinding) sells used ones for $30, but they have none in stock.

I'd like to know what the Samba consensus is.

Thanks in advance

The vast majority of cold start valves on many of the golfs, jettas audi's, saabs and volvos will work as well. You shoudl be able to get them for pretty cheap at a pick and pull. Ray

Many 70's and 80's Nissan and Isuzu also have the same or very similar valves.

About a month ago, I sold a cold start valve, with gasket and screws. I originally asked $10.00 for it. It was in the Samba classifieds for about 3 or 4 months. I eventually reduced the price to $5.00, and it sold.

I guess you just missed it. Laughing

Lastly, you just referred to US citizens as 'Americans'. Exactly what kind of Canadian are you? From what continent?
