Putzy stuff. Aired it out, did a mild interior wipedown, cleaned the carpet, that kind of thing. Washed & line dried the westy bedding for some future sweet dreams.

Installed the Rocky Mountain Westy underseat drawer. Man, that thing is slick. No pictures as of yet, but I was able to retain the carpet cover over the face of the drawer to keep it less conspicuous. Used spray on Plasti-Dip inside the drawer with a piece of shelf liner embedded on the bottom to keep stuff from slippin' and slidin' around in there. Did I mention these things are a stout - well designed/constructed item? Definitely worth the investment should you find yourself requiring some lockable storage.

great, as always just one step ahead of me, Laughing you better post pics, I got mine delivered last week and was already looking at how to do the same carpet cover in the front to camouflage the drawer, drawer is sitting in the box as I finish my upper bed extension/pillow board, need to stitch some Velcro and it is all done.

Laughing best response ever

Kids can learn a lot with an old windsurfer

I successfully cleared all my Subaru 2.2 engine codes after over a year of trying, including asking a shop to do it..

none of the instructions I found online worked

what worked was disconnecting the negative battery terminal, and turning on the ignition key.. waited an hour, and Viola!

no more code 22, 23, 31, 35.. zero codes.. I like zero codes..

got my fuel pressure regulator vacuum line hooked up again too, after bumping it loose screwing around with the wiring harness fuse in the engine bay (another failed attempt to clear codes)

also, got my windshield wiper washers cleaned, aimed, and working.. it sucked having only one squirter working..

oh, and a few days ago added a steel skid plate to protect the oil pan after Syncro De Mayo dented it again.. (I was driving, but I swear that rock jumped up when I went over it)

Slider, I only have the driver's side washer spitting. I have to take my grills off and try to find the bifurcation and check it out.

Is this hard to do? I have done it before on other cars and actually have a new spare bifurcation and some hose. Do I need to take off both grills or only the top?

I stopped on the way to work yesterday and got a new photo of the mileage! No one at work believes me when I tell them about the miles on my van!

after adjusting the sliding door as much as possible, it now opens half the way so I put a temporary stopper in. proved to be a good move as I already banged the door pretty heavily into the stopper, would've left a nasty mark on the wheel. I'll probably either extend the hinge or put in 5mm narrower spacers.

Now that looks great! Where did you order your spacers? I have a set of 15" Porsche Cookie Cutters just waiting for a set of new tires and to be on my van.

they are H&R's, 40mm thick. I had to have the fronts machined to fit the odd front hub.

After a multi-day camping trip this past week, we got inspired to put on the pop-top tent I ordered from Atelierspk. It's tan sunbrella with 3 windows.

We did it with the top on the van...
which certainly involved some contortion, crazy twisting and reaching, and frustration getting those corners in...but it is done now! It's very tight, and I am hoping it will stretch out a bit over time.

I recently purchased a small Skil electric screwdriver that came with a right-angle attachment...and don't think we could've done it without that tool.

Looks great though! Highly recommended to anyone with a stock tent!

I picked this steering wheel up from the guy who hooked me up with new tires and spacers for my new rims. I installed the new GTI steering wheel tonight and like how it looks. The circumference is smaller than the stock steering wheel, so it takes a few more turns than normal, but so far I like it.

Loved VWs my whole life. finally got one. 73 Westy Campmobile. Today i found out that the swaybar is totally broken on the right side just before it goes into the bushing and clamp. wondering if anyone knows if they are interchangeable from any other buses or bugs. ?? Also, i took out the license plate light to check the bulb. it was burnt. oh wow, also checked the oil and it is way over full. (only had it 5 days now) The owner before me said it went thru a little bit of oil. might explain why its so full cause he probably just kept putting it in and not really checkin it. idk. oh and i sat in it for a long time daydreaming about what i want to do to it. Smile its not in bad shape. need to scrape old crappy primer and spray paint off and try to get it back to the original orange cause everywhere you can see the orange looks like its in good shape. so yeah nothing major, but thats what i did today Smile
