I don't know about desirable -? But definitely rare there only seem to be about 6 or 10 of these left from the original production of 60?
From the Ranger Boat Company in Seattle.
I think you can move any buggy up the rare/ desirable list if it's in very good original condition. I got this from the original owner a couple years ago.
It was built in 1971 and It'd been parked since 1974.

s*%t That looks like the same body style as one I use to have, never new what it was until now,to late |
I would love to see more pictures of this. My buggy I was told was a copy of a Manx, but it kinda looks like they might have copied this buggy! |

Your Le Tigre(top) looks close to a Fiberjet Enos 500 (middle) and an El Lobo(bottom) . Does it have a Le Tigre badge or name plate? Who made it? Where were they located?

What are the production specifications on the Vopar Industries Vokaro?
I've unearthed several ads from the '70s, both a full length 4 seater and the shortened 2 seater, but only seen a few actual photos.
I have a 2 seater 'project' I'm about to start up.

I don't think they're too rare. I posted a link to some literature on the Vokaro thread I started earlier. |

I'm not to sure of the background or rarity of these two. But a friend has nicely restored both.
A Corvair powered Glitter Bug.

Glad to hear it. Its definitely a great original design and a rarity. Restored ones are even rarer.

I got my buggy from the guy near Dallas who had that car. I looked it over for a while, but at the time (February)it wasn't for sale and I wasn't looking for a project.
It's an interesting car, but boy is it gonna b a lot of work. _________________ Brian

Only about 500 were produced and they have lines that are a little like the old corvette. Plus, they have that WOW factor! |

That's not a Mantaray Kyote II. Its a Mantaray II Kyote.
The Kyote II was a full length chassis.
Go back and read the first couple of pages of the thread. There's a lot of very good Kyote/Dean Jeffries info in there.
I believe that in addition to being produced by Jeffries in California, they were also produced under license in Florida?, as well as the UK. Original Jeffries Kyotes have his business card laminated on the back of the dash I think. |

This is correct but when I did the Kyote website I had at Geocities, now gone, {bits of it can be found in the Dune Buggy Archives site} I had a few conversations with Dean to verify accuracy. He never mentioned Florida. He had the distribution for the west coast while Irwin Boat, based out of Toronto, had the east coast. Irwin was the only company I was able to find that was a legal franchise for the M2K, they were even allowed to use a photo of Dean in their adds. Dean made the fewest numbers, of the 68 Mantaray II Kyote, as he recognized the problem with the headlight location. He redesigned the original Mantaray II Kyote moulds in 69 to make the Kyote 1. The next year he came out with the Kyote II. As a result he could not make any more M2K's. Irwin boat did not make the change, they made more. In later years, after Dean stopped producing the M2K he sold franchises to a company in England. Eventually the author, and owner of GT Mouldings {based in England}, James Hale, {the dune buggy handbook, the dunebuggy phenomenon etc} owned the rights to the Kyote II. I consulted with James for the book The Dune Buggy Phenomenon. In recent years the rights were sold to a company in Europe. This is where I lose the trail.
If you post pics of the interior/dash {both sides}/ the support rails under each side/ the rear and the front. Also a clear photo of the outer body lip I will be able to give you an idea as to whether or not it is a Jeffries original, an Irwin licenced body or one of the few clones that were made.
Clones were few as Dean was able to get a patent on his designs. _________________ Licensed Automotive Service Technician

That was a great website. I read it all several times. I haven't bought the Jeffries Book yet but I suspect your website had more info about the Kyote than the book. |

It probably did. I had friends from all over submitting info for that site. It covered all models and some of his other creations. I was albe to download the site with the help of friends but due to the crap Geocities did to the code, it is basically useless. _________________ Licensed Automotive Service Technician
