This is a pic from the gallery of "hazetguy"
He had the same issue I have with the copper contact for the horn worn thru. An easy fix is just to buy a new $70 turn signal that will have a new copper tab. But I am wondering if anyone has fixed this without having to throw away a perfectly good usable turn signal.
My copper tab is actually in worse shape than the one in the pic. So, I don't think trying to bend it to make contact in a different spot will work. I am wondering if any one has replaced just the copper tab, or somehow connected a small but good piece of copper to patch the hole.
Thanks! _________________ "The large print giveth and the small print taketh away."

There's nothing stopping you from soldering a patch over the missing spot, copper is easy to solder if you clean it up and use flux. What have you got to lose? The only warning I can add is don't linger too long, copper is also a good heat conductor, either practise so you can work fast or clamp/wrap some sort of heat sinks at the ends of the tab so you don't melt the switch. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
Please don't PM technical questions, ask your problem in public so everyone can play along. If you think it's too stupid post it here

concur. Use solder with a rosin flux for electronics (Radio Shack) and not an acid flux like for plumbing. Clean the copper then put a little solder on it. Put a little solder on the piece of tin you will use and then lay it on top and heat gently as BusDaddy suggests. If you don't have copper cut a small piece of romex wire and pound it thin on an anvil etc. Keep in mind that the longer you make it, the less flexible the piece will be. Try to cover the smallest area you can. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

I did it. I just slowly filled the hole with solder. It ain't pretty but it works now.
I also discovered that the fuse was blown. _________________ "The large print giveth and the small print taketh away."
