I have a new lid seal, not installed yet, that somehow has some grey primer on it. Is there something that will remove that paint, without destroying the seal? _________________ '72 Standard

Laquer thinner will remove the paint. Use sparingly... it's a new seal so it's not going to dry out. You can also try other solvents, just use common sense when applying it. |

Thanks Max, I'll give it a try. I was really pissed when I saw it. _________________ '72 Standard

Spray it and your other seals with silicone afterwards for better looks and protection. _________________ jlex.

WD 40 will take it off with a terry cloth as long as it's not too thick |

Thanks all. I used laquer thinner and a green scrubby, came right off with little effort. Immediately followed by a good washing in hot soapy water. _________________ '72 Standard

I think I had it sitting in the trunk area while spraying primer on my car. Don't remember why, it was a couple of years ago. _________________ '72 Standard
