I'm trying to eliminate some problems in my 2.0L FI engine. I found a decent size crack in the wire running from the CHT sensor. I just cleaned it up and taped it until I can get a new one in there and I was surprised at just how big of a difference it made.

Looking at the FI info on type2.com, I see several references to replacing a CHT sensor #2. Is there a second sensor somewhere or is this from a different engine or is it just a different name for the same sensor??

Confused,

Hans

If you are talking about the sensor that is by the #3 cylinder, they are one in the same. The #1 sensor is inside the AFM and cannot be replaced without replacing the AFM. A bad temp sensor #2 can cause poor idle and missing. Is this the problem you are having? I also believe that it can cause fuel mixture problems.
