|
|
Installed new brake shoes all around, also changed the rear wheel cylinders. Started bleeding after adjusting the shoes all around , have good presssure on the rear and the passenger side up front, but the driver side do not have any pressure. I tried pumping it just once, hold, open the bleeding valve, closed, tried again, then with two pumps, then 10...same results, no pressure. Right now the pedal goes to the floor. Any suggestion? |

You have air in the system still. Bleed the whole system, all four wheels, in the proper sequence. No need to open and close the bleeder valves between each pedal pump. Just attach a small piece of transparent hose, open the valve, have an assistant pump the pedal repeatedly until clean clear fluid comes out with no bubbles. Then close the valve and go to the next one. |

three of the four brakes have enough pressure for a nice clear stream of fluid. The fourth one(driver front) is the one with no pressure, spent a while just pumping that one and nothing. Brake pedal is all the way to the floor.
will try something different tomorrow. will post results of the procedure.
Thanks. |

Check the brake hose and possibly the hardline to the master cylinder
Could also be a faulty wheel cylinder |

x2 on the hose. Replace all four hoses if they look old and crusty. If they look dry and cracked, they are OVERdue for replacement. The brake hoses usually fail internally when they get that old - they swell up on the inside to the point of constricting fluid flow. |

Clogged bleeder? If nothing comes out, even air, that might be the problem.
Either that, or clogged metal or rubber lines. Be sure of the age of the rubber lines. They can look find and still hide a deteriorated (burst) center hose that won't leak but won't hold pressure either. |
