im getting ready to put my new engine in

after marrying eng & trans
i pulled on the clutch lever & noticed that
it would only move about a inch or so

to be exact i took a pic
& here it is

i want to believe that it should move 5 times that distance

can you guys tell me whats going on, before i decide to take apart & start over

im going to take a guess and say thats good, you need a big lever like a clutch pedal to make it move more

Turn the screwdriver around and put it in the hole from the top. The amount of lever arm distance you show there isn't much different than just pulling on the clutch lever alone.

The amount you have moved it looks like it might only be overcoming the lever spring on the outside. Which might be just moving the T/O bearing up into contact with the pressure plate. And not even starting to compress the clutch.

So the amount you have moved the lever is very little more than the way you would have adjusted the cable without pushing on the pedal.

Glad you're about to get it back running.

that feels about right

i had put the screwdriver in the other way & put some force behind it
& it still only went that far

i guess i never realized just how much force it takes to
engage the clutch

hopefully i can post a pic of my running bus later today
in the......... what have you done recently
