Anyone know where I can get a transmission for the above mentioned van?
I just purchased this two weeks ago and this past weekend the thing went out.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Where are you? A lot of bigger cities have transmission shops which can rebuild an auto tranny, so you may be able to get it done locally. Also, that year's tranny is the same as the model used in some other VW's, so there may be an interchangeablilty there. (not positive, but I know the late bay automatics were)
Also, have you checked the fluid? Low fluid levels will cause it not to shift correctly. Sounds like you might need to find a trustworthy mechanic to check all that out.
Good luck.

If you've got some mechanical skills, that tranny is not too hard to fix. Tranny shops can probably sell you a kit for about $200 that have most of the parts. Might be nice to have a parts washer and a good clean space to keep everthing in order.
