I recently installed a busboys Albatross Adjustable Beam on my 74. Lowering it is easy, unscrew locknut, loosen spring plate set screw, lower the jack until it is at the height you want it, tighten everything back up. Now the prob... raising it up. Loosen nut and set screw, free the adjuster plate, bus is already on the jackstands, removed shocks and snubbers for max travel down, but the torsion spring housing inside the beams wont move down. i have tried prying, hammering, wedges, ect...
Anyone with experience please help my bus is too low in the front, the torsion arms are sitting on the snubbers.
I completely rebuilt the front end Ball joints, drag link, steering dampner, KYBs, tie rods, Torsion springs, and i can't even drive it yet.
Thanks,
Chris

only things i can think of that might help are to disconnect your shocks, and make sure that the torsion leaves are well lubed. |

Cut the snubbers off (everybody does)!Dropping the front is easy ,getting it back up is a bear.I ended up wedging a 2x4 between the beam and the top of the tierod head, grab hold of the raingutter and jump up and down.Someone else suggested using a bottle jack between the frame and the spindle.Good Luck |

When you say cut the snubbers off do you mean remove the snubber or actually cut the tube that the snubbers mount to? |

Hey COOK I helped DKAUF install his and he set his up a notch or two from the lowest set point. I have mine set all the way down with the snubbers cut off. I have 15inch wheels with 60 series tires and yes if you hit a good dip or bump they will hit inside the top of the wheel wells. Its no big thing though it just makes a chirmp noise and you laugh everytime. I'm not sure if his hits or not being raise up a notch. But I will soon have 17inch porsche cups on mine and I may have to raise mine a notch or so. Not sure yet, but I will see.
And it is a biatch to get it to raise back up once it has been lowered. The bootle jack thing sounds like a good idea.
Good luck post a pic when you are done.
