Is that a complete lawn tractor drivetrain? At first I thought the big pulley was attached to the input shaft of the trans, but now see there is no trans, at least not a VW one.
It's IRS, I see. The lever on the transmission is for forward/reverse?
I wonder what it says on the tag attached by a welding clamp? _________________ Andy

I unfortunately did not get a chance to really walk around during Familienfest 16 as I was working the club booth. If I had walked around and saw this, I would have taken a few more pics of this "setup". _________________ Like a midget at a urinal, I'm always on my toes

Holy crap... a lawn tractor engine/drivetrain in a bug? Be glad that it's a fatchick (judging from the shape of the rear decklid), and hopefully it's a "disposable bug" Super Beetle. |

This 'real' short T 1 Bus been used 1969 at Hamburg by the 'Boberg'-Sailplanes for transporting and of course to have Fun, too.
The first Speeding-Trapps were huge, so there had to be done big Conversions to the Cars. Here a VW T 1 Kombi with Multanova Equippment(1969).
1969. A Beetle with Steam Engine was the Sensation at the Steam Engine Automobil Club of America.
Long Time before Volkswagen built the Superbeetle 1303, there was already a Beetle with 'Panoramic View'. Picture been taken 1969

Is that Spicolli?... Gnarly!!!. I didn't know Penn was really into VW's... I thought he was busy negotiating world peace in Iraq/Iran? (or is this really Iran's first reactor, perfected by Dr. penn?)

I'm liking the gullwing shorty bug, thankfully based on a fatchick judging from the seats and vent behind the rear side window, and the VW-engined tractor too. The bug with the wrap-around windshield in another post appears to have the windshield from an Opel in it. |

WTFuckitty-f*$#. It wouldn't be anywhere near as funny if it weren't for the fan and sprinkler heads. Those engines already have a fan built into the flywheel, I've taken apart a dozen of them. The flywheel fan blows the opposite way from the direction that electric fan would blow The battery must be for the electrical system as the engine has a pull start and doesn't run a generator. Any more pics of this? _________________ Check my classifieds for kewl gauges:
