The movie referenced (obliquely) above is entitled Walk Proud
PLEASE put some sort of description so that you don't send all of us to YouTube just to figure out WTF you are talking about!

Anyway, back on track...watched a Dirty Harry movie the other night (the Enforcer). I know it's probably been mentioned several times in this thread but I enjoy watching the HUGE concentration of new (back then) VWs driving around San Francisco. Practically every shot of the streets depicts one or two ACVWs driving around |

Umm, are the VWs referred to the couple in the far background or did I miss one in the main action? |

In the first Transformers movie, there's a yellow Beetle at Bernie Mac's used car lot. I think it's a tribute to the cartoon because Bumblebee in the 1980's series was a Beetle.
I was a little pissed that they made him into a Camaro. Bumblebee has been and always will be, in my mind, a Beetle. |

Not only that, but they should have at least kept him as the older Camaro. The new one is fugly IMO.
I hope this isn't a repost sighting:
Anyway, I was watching Rudy the other day. Rudy's friend from community college moves away once he finally finds a girlfriend, and Rudy is attending Notre Dame. When they say their good-byes, there is a blue TypeII Bay window right behind them. |

Does anyone remember the movie "Mississippi Burning" with Gene Hackman and he mentions FBI agents driving VW's? I was just wondering if anyone knew any history about that. _________________ 67 Convertible July 67 Yukon Yellow

The 1960 movie The Bellboy with Jerry Lewis [yeah, I know, I'm not French] opens with a gag wherein Lewis, as the titular bellboy, is dispatched to retrieve luggage from the trunk of a new Beetle, only to lift the deck lid and find a running engine [to make it clear the engine's running the pulleys are halved with white paint].
Naturally, the next scene is the bellboy dutifully delivering a convincing 36 horse engine to the puzzled hotel guest. Laffs ensue! |

Last night on Nickelodeon they were showing Back To The Future and I saw a white bay window parked on the street when they take off for the future at the end. _________________ I'm not losing my hair, it's just retired and relocating further south.

Last night on the Military Channel was an old black and white war film with Burt Lancaster called "The Train". It had lots of Kubelwagens being driven by the Germans. Thankfully none were shot at or destroyed, although one scene came close with some explosions. |

Someone mentioned a Type 3 getting shot up in "Rundown", but there was lots of VW destruction in that film. A Ghia gets shot up, Rails blown apart , Bay bus smashed up. |
