I intend to install a MGP computer in my '88 Westfalia. This is an opensource project found on the EdoModder site, here
http://ecomodder.com/
The specifics of the unit to be installed are here
http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.php/mpguino-release-one-workspace-2115.html
In essence it needs a signal from a fuel injector and a Vehicle Speed Sensor signal.
I assume the VSS signal could be taken right off the back of the speedo since it feeds the cruise control.
Any suggestions where to pick up the signal for one fuel injector?
Any one else seen this project? I think it will make a neat mod for the Westfalia. _________________ '88 VW Westfalia

You already have the only one that is going to work in 'real life' driving= your right foot. |

How is that anything like a MPG computer?
does anyone else have any experience fitting a trip computer to a Westfalia? The problem is, all commercial aftermarket units need the OBD socket - which of course our vintage vans do not have. _________________ '88 VW Westfalia

No knowledge that could help you go through, but sounds like a really cool "poor man" scangauge.
I look forward your installation report and calibration data to start mine

That is pretty sweet. Please, keep this updated. people would really dig this mod if it was achievable! _________________ On a mission, the destination is just an excuse.

Shouldn't the unit need manifold vacuum too? The fuel pressure regulator will vary fuel pressure based on manifold vacuum, so to know how much fuel you're squirting into the cylinders you need to know manifold vacuum, and injector pulse width.
Looks like a cool idea. _________________ 1986 Vanagon Westfalia EJ25
