While I was going threw some door handles

I noticed that there are 2 different styles
Of deluxe door pulls
But they had identical part#

Then I came across another handle that is identical to the wider one
With a 071 at the end instead of 072

Can anyone explain why or how I can come up with handles
that are the same style but dif #
then have the same numbers but different style

here are some pics

karl is a legend & was always able to answer questions like this in detail
for all the purist

so i ran across 2 69's today
& a few 71's

& both the 69's had the skinny handles
& all the 71's had the thicker ones

will all you guys with a 69-73 bus
post which handles you have

right now im betting that 69-70 handles are the skinny ones
& that 71-73 are the thick ones
but its just a guess

im hoping you guys can confirm or deny my guess

this is the 2nd time i find different parts with the exact same part#
the other 2 parts that are different with the same numbers are
the rear hatch mech from a 72 & the one from 73-79

Ok you made me go out in the dark and look. my 68,69 and early 70 have skinny handles. my mid 70's on and my 71's have thicker handles. that is looking at 13 bays. Also the 68 and 69 have chrome bezels the early 70 on has the black one's.
