|

I am doing some research for a new website and trying to get details on any very early bays (1967 built) in the US.
Does anyone know of the oldest Bay window in the US ?
- can anyone help ?
Thanks,
Mike. |

Man thats a loaded topic,
1- I dont think anyone has ever even asked about this before.
2- With the thousands of Buses imported that year and the amount that are still on the road here, I would say this would be a very difficult thing to find out. _________________ 65 Bus, 72 Bus, 63 bus, 98 Golf, 92 Cabrio, 71 Fasty

Yes sure I know its not an easy thing to find out as you say there having been many vans exported to the States ... just seeing if I can get an idea by responses on the forum - looking for the early's which I guess are really those built in the first couple of months of production (Aug./Sept. 67) - just seeing what people have got, if there are that many left ...

Hmm, I'll have to check mine when I get home. I'll post in about 6 hours or so, if I remember. _________________ 1968 Deluxe "Clipper L" Type 2

a few years back I aquired a bus from a samba member and local guy ([email protected]). it was a 1968 bus. i researched the build date and found that it was sometime in october of 1967. the date happened to match the test flight of a rocket that was integral to the Apollo space program.
as of now it is somewhere in Oregon or Washington. |

My early Bay Campmobile was built in October '67. 43rd birthday coming up. It's in the middle of a great restoration and should be back up and running by Xmas. |
