Can anyone tell me if the red EMPI Imp body for sale in the Samba Classifieds is an original? It seems to be missing the spot on the hood for the EMPI badge.

Not only is the raised area for the 'Empi Imp' emblem missing, but it appears the globe is missing in the tag area as well. There should be another globe under the hood on the body. Plus, if it's NOS, it would have an ID badge with S/N above the shift coupler area in the rear seat.
As a previous owner of a '70 Model Empi Imp myself, I would guess that the red one is not an original Empi, but a near perfect copy without emblems. Here's my old Imp, you can just make out the emblem area, and the painted globe where the tag area is.
