Is there really a van in that picture? I don't see it..... Wink

No, no van, but I can make out at least 3 Ninja. Razz

VanWilder: Very cool. Nice work.

Bumper time, I went with bed liner fore and aft.

What did you do to get the bedliner to stick to the chrome? I like that look and would like to cover up the cheap pitting chrome on the replacement rear bumper on my van (and then paint the stock front to match).

A severe rough up job with sand paper to get the bed liner to stick. I hope it
stays on when I put my foot on it. I sprayed the the caps too. That remove the dullness.

So how does the front window chrome come off? It looks like the window will fall apart.

The side windows have aluminum and I will have to paint those.

Fronts are a little more involved. I think there's a thread somewhere here that discusses de-chroming the windows, but you'll still be left with the wing windows. You can also try the paint pen route.

Met a guy at Mogfest last weekend who had his window trim blacked out with a sort of vinyl tape. Looked okay, and I know the vinyl will hold up very well. You could research that as well.

I had vinyl electrical tape on the door sil chrome of a Karmann Ghia for a few years, looked nice too, but it was very fussy to put on tight and clean or it'd look totally ghetto

I wonder...

If I painted faux rust all over my van the real rust would be undetectable!

I would add a little reflective tape to all 4 sides (or better lighting)
while the camo is nice it's no fun to get run over by a Mack truck on a rainy night in the righthand lane climbing a long grade.
Flat paints tend to vanish on dark wet nights.
again it's the look you are going for but flattened is not.

they have Black reflective tape that will be a thin black stripe during day and a Goldish reflective at night.
http://reflectivetapestore.com/
I'm thinking of adding a 1/2" stripe to the sides jut below the rain gutters.
that topmost little bit I don't think will compromise the paint job.

I believe, to be legal and if that matters, you must use DOT approved reflective tape. Here's a sample :

I have to say I am not normally a fan of camo, but this looks amazing! It takes some serious commitment to start on a project like this. Once you start, there is no going back.

Bravo, for having the cajones to do it!

Maybe you should change the name from "VanWilder" to "CAMOGON".
