Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the bracing etc. I'm simply suggesting, if you don't have to cut it, you'll be saving yourself days/weeks of headache. If you really want to cut it off, go for it. Take measurements and take your time. The worst thing that can happen is the car has a crooked nose. It won't affect the engine, steering or brakes, so no one will be physically injured if it's wrong.
