where is this? nice little point. |
Salish Sea, Wa. I just got back from a solo three day, camping, surfing, trail-bashing bus trip. This photo was taken at dawn. I woke up to this rainbow and some fun little waves. I surfed this point all day by myself, the swelled built as the tide filled in, really fun little waves.
The board on the rack is a "yard sale" find. I'm guessing it's late 50's to early '60's, it's a monster (I usually shortboard). Being out in the middle of nowhere, camping in a bus and surfing these points by yourself feels like going back in time. |

Shit, I've been looking for that a long time. Sounds perfect. That board is so flat, it almost looks like a paddle board. I'm a longboarder, but it doesn't really matter as long as its surf. It depends on the break, but a lot of them are better for longboarding at high tide. Goofy-foot? Looks like a left-point. Glad you had a good trip. |

Took a spin out to Banff on a beautiful fall day with the wife and kidlets. Sat in the hotsprings, had a great lunch and spent a few hours cruising through the Rockies.
Hanging out at the Banff Springs Hotel.
