Which brand is better for stock replacement shocks? Monroe or Gabriel. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

Also depends upon your budget. You can spend from $19.95 to $100.00 per shock. Each claims they are better in one way or another.
As with so many purchases, you need to research and weigh what people report about various brands.
As with most choices in life, inexpensive is often sub standard, most expensive is just overkill although it may be a superior product (such as bilstein).
I'd go center of the road price wise. At this point it is just deciding what is available and who's features truly are the best features to meet your driving needs.
I just put some KYB Gas-A-Just shocks on my Beetle. No complaints though ANYTHING would be better than what was on there!!
I however am not a picky purchaser of suspension components, I don't ask much from them for I drive conservatively and thus, am easily made happy.

X2... calibrated for our suspension, smooth and controlled.
If you were going with front and rear aftermarket sways and/or modified suspension, then your situation may warrant something different, but for stock suspension, it hard to beat the calibration of the Sachs or Boge OEM shocks.
