Bus is lowered with an adjustable beam, but not sure if the the spindles are stock or not. Can you tell from these photos?
Also, I have read on these boards that you get the best ride if you have an adjustable beam and drop spindles. If my spindles are stock and I go with 3 inch drop spindles, is the adjuster on my beam maxed out re: the lower you go with the adjuster the higher the bus? Mine is at the lowest setting as far as I can tell.
Recommendations?

you have flipped spindles, all you gotta do now to go lower is adjust it down _________________ No Coast VW Club

your beam is on the highest setting, you can only go lower from where it currently is set.
and yes jobe said, you have lowered spindles already _________________ drive your split. |

This is a stock spindle. Parts are stacked in different order once dropped. Most notably the steering arm is not at the bottom anymore on a lowered spindle.
STOCK ^^^^
Notice the angle of the torsion arms compared to your picture almost parallel to the ground.
Shoot for something close this with your adjusters...
With the 175/55/15 tires, you may want to watch for rubbing the fenders when you go lower with your adjusters.
Set it low, drive it around, and see how much it does.
Good luck in San Fran with a lowered bus and those hills!
Even some "stock" vehicles scrape bumpers! _________________

Very helpful, Ty. From a ride standpoint, still seems a little bouncy and already rubs if I have one of my big friends in the front. Anything else I can do to smooth it out? Kyb gas adjust?
Will be doing a full rest soon anything I should address in the front suspension aside from seals and such when it's all apart? |

I'm starting to get little wafts of bus stink coming from the north. Something about the unique scent of drivers seat padding when it's glued together with mouse piss and shit that really gets me going... and I'm smelling it! Oh yeah! Time to start loading up the equipment. |

That's a Bus Boys adjustable beam w/ Wolfgang dropped spindles.
Your king pin seals on the spindles are gone. Would definitely take care of that... chances are the thrust washers are pretty worn too from the looks of things.
KYB Gas-a-Just or other gas charged shock will definitely firm things up as opposed to the GR2's on there now... _________________ Aaron D. Badertscher
