My 72 Fastback seems to be missing a part where the air comes in through the fender and into the air cleaner. The car has been converted to the carb set up.

Can someone tell me what part(s) are missing?

Here's a picture:

Thanks.

I ordered some parts from them a couple days ago and unfortunately they no longer have that part.

What about item number 4 (Control Box) in the drawing right beneath. Do I need that part too?

you can find one or Really just wrap it
Duct Tape works great
and if you take the oil bath out you can make one on the body piece
and then cover the inside with opposite tape
then if you want use clamps

its only a passage way for the air
it wont see any kind of heat

I just purchased the missing control box on ebay.

I'm sure duct tape would do the job, but the original quick-release design looks like the way to go.

Does anyone have an extra rubber boot & clamps?

Are there differences in that control box over the years? I found a pic in the Haynes manual showing a hose coming off the bottom of that control box and going to a nipple off the right heat exchanger. My heat exchanger has no such nipple. My control box previously had no hose attached, just an open hole down there. So, is there another version of the control box that has no hole, or where does that hose go if no nipple on the heat exchanger? I literally spent the entire day yesterday researching for this answer, but no success from hours of digging....help! Shocked
