Made it baqck to So Cal OK. The problem where we lost power on the way out that I thought was popping out of 4th gear turned out to be a random problem with the electronic ignition module. Good thing I carry those good old dependable point sets as spares! Other than a little roadside ignition swap, it was another fantastic event in Yuma!
Thanks again to all the Yuma folks that make this happen each year.
Great weather, location, food and friends! Oh yeah, winning the raffle motor was pretty good too
Got the count down clock set for next year! _________________ Bdul Bug - '67 Beetle

We got home about an hour ago. The ride back was uneventful and the weather was beautiful. To all our friends in Yuma, hats off to all of you, another fantastic event. Millie and I did pretty well in the raffle, and so did Earl. Congrats to John Howard for winning the transaxle, and to Gary Beadle for winning the long block. The weather was great, and the park was very nice. Good turnout for the camp out and a very nice selection of VW's turned out for the show. With next year being the 10th year, I can hardly wait to see what you all have planned for it. Next up Havasu in January. See you all there. _________________ If you argue with an idiot for more than 5 minutes, who's the real idiot?

First off, thank you to all who attended, sponsored, and supported Volkswagens on the River 9! It was a great weekend and we enkoyed our time with you all. We raised the most money we ever have for charity. We will release the official amount Wednesday night after we present the check to Amberly's Place. I promise you all are going to love it, and its all your money that will help innocent children. Thank you, and on be half of Amberly's Place they thank you as well. So stay tuned for the amount.
As of right now we only have 22 shirts left in which some still may sell locally. The remainder will show up in raffles through out the year of the clubs that have supported this event. On that note we would like to thank the Arizona Bus Club, VTOooooooooo, the London Bridge Bullies, JD of Verde Valley Dub Works (Mogollon Madness), and Doug from Hawii for t-shirt donations. Yuma loves you all!
And now on to our trophy winners. Ther were 76 cars entered this year and alot in the parking lots that should have been entered. Anway, we present awards to the top 10. Each person who enters a vw gets one ballot and can only vote for five vehicles. So, in no particular order the winners are as follows:
1958 Green/White Panel Bus, John & Denise Howard, Lake Havasu, AZ
1970 Red Karmann Ghia, Tom Edwards, Phoenix, AZ
1966 Corel Bug, Alex Colin, Mexicali, MX
1966 Two Tone Blue Convertible Bug, Rob Thomas, San Diego, CA
1964 Red Baja, Dave Lucero, Yuma, AZ
1956 Red/White Rag Top Bug, Rob Thomas, San Diego, CA
1962 Green Bug, Mike Porter, Yuma, AZ
1959 Grey Rag Top Bug, Harrison Ward, Yuma, AZ
1965 Green Camper, Ray and Doug Gibson, CA & HA
1964 Panel Bus, Corey (no last name listed), Lake Havasu, AZ
Also, congradulations to Gary and Debby Beadle for winning that sweet little 1600 DP built by James Burnite. And to John and Denise Howard on winning that perfect bus tranny built by J&S Transmmissions out of Lake Havasu. |

Thanks guys, show was Awesome and the shirts are Outstanding, awesome colors, we knew you liked BAY WINDOWS and the prooof is on the shirt! Ill be sporting mine to Havasu. Lots of parts and good project cars for sale too. I think you guys should switch parks every other year, it changes it up a little bit, both parks are beautiful though. Mark. |

Tonight we presented Amberly's Place with the proceeds made this year at Volkswagens on the River 9. The total was $5,625.85! Thank you to everyone for their support of the show and spending their hard earned money on the items we had to offer. If you spent money last weekend you are a true unknown hero to the children that Amberly's Place will help tomorrow and well into the future. Thanks again.

Way to go YUMA!!!!! That's a really great amount raised with in my opinion the Show being a little smaller than in the past ones that I have attended. Just goes to show you that all VW people have big hearts. Andy, tell everyone involved with the Event THANK YOU from me and Millie. We love this Event and guarantee we will attend every year it happens.
Oh yeah, Squirrel boy nice job on the pictures and video. I love the finger pointing one of me and Millie. { inside joke } _________________ If you argue with an idiot for more than 5 minutes, who's the real idiot?
