Here is one that just came up on Craigslist: 1984 Vanagon at PICK-N-PULL AUTO WRECKING 9635 N. Columbia Blvd. Portland, Oregon 97203

503-286-6262
Be sure to CALL FIRST, as they may not have it ready for picking yet.
.
Cheers,
Jeffery

There are actually 4 pick n pulls in and around Portland. None have vanagons right now but you can search online.

I think you can actually check inventory online:
This one on N Columbia Blvd seems to the best the best locally.

GREAT online search, much like our local yard that gives the model, production year and date yarded. Most that I've seen require you to search for a specific part when what you really want to know is if there's a Vanagon there that you can visit.

Traftons vw repair has a lot of vanagon bodys lying around. I pulled a taillight lens and some dash parts for about $25 a year ago, nice people working there.

Checked out the '84 at N. Columbia this morning. The van was once loved. A lot of time and money went into some creative mods. Lots of sound deadening type mods, a custom center console fairly cleverly designed and built, lots of custom speaker (6x9s in the doors and under rear seat, and 4" rounds in the rear and custom console), and even a TV mounted on a custom swivel table behind the drivers seat. The PO attempted to black everything out - window frames, dash and bumpers (which are straight with the end caps and rubber strips). The engine and trans are untouched as of this morning, so take a look if you're in need of anything.
