they used to make a pinner whitewall 5.20 14, blackwall on the other side. Not sure if this size was ever brought over to radials, or if thats even small enough for what youre looking for

sorry, not a pinner, they were a 1/2 inch whitewall. Coker is remaking them but they are a little different

a 5.20-14 is damn near the same size as a 145-14

That looks like an old "safety racing" wheels with the old ford wide five pattern that old super mods and other circle track cars used.

This is on FeeBay this week. They were labeled as Halibrands. Also these were 16". I would love to know more about them. Hope some 15" wide-5 lug VW versions are floating around still.

Sorry to inform you those wheels are not Halibrands.
Safety racing was the company. the wheels bolted together allowing one to change the offset and repair/replace broken outers rather than junking the whole wheel. the centers came in the old ford truck wide five pattern and six pin sprint car pattern. don't get your hopes up for a vw pattern. not to my knowledge that was ever available.
There is a old circle track shop in san francisco that has many of these wheel parts, but no vw.

Im kinda releived that they are NOT Halibrands. I didnt want to go on another search for some crazy wheels. They resemble the inside of a Halibrand though. Like a Halibrand turned around backwards. Thanks.

3 piece Weld Fuchs replicas. Maybe not the rarest ever, but certainly an oddity. Can't find anything about them or anyone else who has a set.

Sounds like you know your stuff.. They were on a vw at one point.. They were in an old off road garage that's all I know about them. Also I bolted a wide 5 drum up to it... It matches........?

the old ford truck pattern may be close. if you do get a set and they bolt up realize the wheels are flat on the center and you would need to index them on each hub or drum/rotor and use the washer set up like the light weight drag erco wheels. you also would need some long studs because those centers are thick in material.

I have a set of five... 4jx15 dated 1949...

From a Heb.

Weird that they are 15 inch that early... also weird that they are 4 inches wide... that was a really wide rim then.
